Sergeant Major Johnny Myers entered the Army's delayed entry program July 1979, with a reporting date of August 1979 to Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC. He has served more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience, as NCOIC, Military Personnel Office; NCOIC, Brigade S1; Security Interviewer; Management Analyst; Chief and Program Manager of the Army’s Personnel Security Screening Program; United States Army Personnel Command Training Division Sergeant Major; Executive Officer to The 12th Sergeant Major of The Army; CCJ1 Sergeant Major, United States Central Command; CSM Security Assistance, Multi National Security Command – Iraq and retired as Executive Officer to the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, United States Central Command. Recalled from retirement to manage strategic initiatives for the Command Sergeant Major, International Security Assistance Forces/ United States Forces Afghanistan facilitating communications to Command Senior Enlisted Leaders throughout the Afghanistan Theater of operation and ensured the Command Sergeant Major expanded the commander’s impact.
Upon retirement, assumed the position of VP Human Resources, J. Tilley, Inc, a small veterans disabled company constructed to obtain association with organizations which provide quality equipment and added value to our warriors, the United States Army and the Department of Defense. Furthermore, serves as Treasurer of the American Freedom Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to raise national awareness of the sacrifices our Troops and their families endure. Sergeant Major Myers served in the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 66th Military Intelligence Group, Munich, & Augsburg, Germany; Phoenix Military Entrance Processing Station, Arizona; US Army Personnel Command, Alexandria, Virginia, The Pentagon, Washington, DC and Mac Dill AFB, Florida; deployed on multiple occasions to Iraq and Afghanistan.
His Military Education includes; Basic Training; Advanced Individual Training; Airborne Training;Primary Leadership Development Course; Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course; AdvanceNon-Commissioned Officer Course; Battle Staff Course and the United States Army SergeantsMajor Academy Course. His Civilian Education includes: Associates and Baccalaureate Degrees in Business, from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview, TX, and a Masters in Business Administration from Troy State University, Troy, AL.
